Energy crisis?

Today, when I am forced to look at the ever-increasing prices of energy and fuel, and thus also at the price of basic foodstuffs and other products, in which it is of course also reflected to a significant extent, I cannot help but remember how I was as a boy he said that with the discovery of nuclear energy, we have averted all major crises of a similar type – at least for a thousand years ahead. It was, of course, the look of a scientist, laden with youthful (and understand a little naive) enthusiasm, but still – what the hell happened?

Even then it was at least clear that:

  • Energy consumption will increase in the future.
  • Energy is key to practically all sectors of the economy, and thus certainly belongs to the strategic resources in which each country should be more or less independent of the others.
  • Renewable energy sources in most countries (including ours) will not be able to cover the increased demand.

I understand that it is a bit of a problem to store the energy generated by a nuclear power plant and use it in mobile devices such as cars. In short, convert it to chemical sources of energy such as gasoline, diesel or natural gas (however, it could be stored with an efficiency of around 60%, for example, as hydrogen-oxygen). So it is not a completely universal solution. But you can also heat with electricity – just as easily as with gas. Of course, after we bought subsidized gas boilers (because they say it will be cheaper in the future), we don’t want to buy electric ones again. But that’s the solution. The million dollar question is why the fuck is the price of electricity rising so terribly? How much does it cost to produce it from the core compared to the current solution? Why don’t we have enough of her? I would certainly not expect that the real prices of electricity will increase in the future – rather, they will decrease – together with the improvement of the technology of its production! Or where did the “comrades from the GDR” go wrong?
